ATTORNEY JONAH DICKSTEIN

Attorney Jonah Dickstein

Attorney Jonah Dickstein practices criminal defense, civil law, and appellate litigation. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and Boston College Law School. Prior to law school, Jonah served as a legislative aide and legislative analyst in the highly selective California Senate Fellows program. While in law school, Jonah clerked at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida. He is also active in the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, serving on the Membership/Diversity Committee. As a member of Hillsborough County Bar Association, he is active in mentoring young lawyers and he also serves on the Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs. He is one of the few lawyers in Florida selected for membership in The National Trial Lawyers organization, in which he is listed among the Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers nationally. 

 

He clerked over two years for the Honorable Matthew C. Lucas of Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal in Tampa and Lakeland, Florida. Jonah has had the honor of receiving Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating, the highest possible rating. This top rating reflects the confidential views of judges and lawyers familiar with his legal ability and ethics. The prestigious First Amendment Lawyers Association, which protects individuals’ constitutional rights, counts Jonah as a member.

 

Mr. Dickstein is a member of the Florida Bar and the California Bar, and is licensed to practice in federal court in the Middle District of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He began his courtroom legal practice as a Miami-Dade County Assistant State Attorney, reaching the level of prosecuting major felony crimes. From there, he proceeded to practice felony criminal defense, successfully defending thousands of DUI, Domestic Violence, Drug Offenses, White Collar Crimes, Sex Crimes, and Homicide cases.

Mr. Dickstein prides himself on “taking clients under his wing,” and providing reassuring and comforting, yet aggressive and proactive representation. He is a zealous advocate who cares deeply about his clients and stands ready to serve the needs of each one with passion, intensity and determination. Mr. Dickstein’s wife works in the field of legal technology. Their two children were both born in Tampa.
